I am a psychotherapist, with a professional practice in Vancouver, BC.

Currently, I work part-time at Oasis MD, a medical clinic in the Marpole area, where I offer in-person sessions. For clients who prefer online therapy, I offer video appointments.

I collaborate with Doctors of BC, offering counselling services to physicians and medical students.

I work with ICBC clients, who often have symptoms of anxiety, PTSD, and physical pain after a car accident.

In this section of my blog, I would like to share with you my joy of writing, with a focus on the theme of how to enrich your life with happiness, health, and meaning.

Pay Attention to Your Surroundings!

August 03, 2016

I have noticed many more interesting things since I got my camera, and started to use it regularly. A photography class is a great way to learn not just about using the camera, but also about how to pay attention and see the beauty which is always around us, regardless of where we are. I have always appreciated the beauty of nature: the beach, the forest, the flowers... But when I pick up my camera, and bring it with me when I go for a walk, I notice many more interesting things that I would have otherwise neglected.

When you take a picture of an interesting staircase, you could appreciate the architect. When you take a picture of the food at your table, you could appreciate the cook, or collect memories of the special people with you. When you take a picture of the ocean, the sky, the sunset, or the trees, you could appreciate the abundance of resources around us! When you look at the cherry blossoms in spring, the sunflowers in summer, the colourful leaves in autumn, the snow in winter… you could appreciate the changes that happen as time moves forward – there is something beautiful in every season, just as there is something beautiful in all stages of life.

Look for all the positives around you, and be grateful!

Affirmation: I enrich my life when I pay attention to my surroundings and appreciate even the tiniest thing.
